Why we only use the King James Bible By Pastor Paul Habermann
We use the King James Bible by conviction not tradition: We only use the King James Bible in our preaching and teaching, and unlike many churches who are leaving the King James Bible, for supposed better translations, or weakening their position on the King James Bible, we stand strong on our conviction that the King James Bible is God's word. It is without error. It is God's pure word.
Introduction:
The Bible you use for church and home matters. I shall go as far as to say that there is only one Bible for the English-speaking people and that is the King James Bible.
The King James Bible is the fully preserved Word of God. It is 100% pure, it is 100% right, it is God’s word.
All other versions may contain a part God’s word, but they are not God’s word. Therefore, they range from subtle deception to outright mockery.
Popular so called “Bible” versions remove/greatly weaken the doctrine of Hell:
Hell appears 54 times in the King James Version. But it only shows up 17 times (or less) in the following versions: NIV, ASV, CSB, Darby, ESV, ISV, NAS, NAU, NET, NJB, NLT, NRS, RSV, TNIV. -Quoted from Chick.com
It is a subtle trick of the enemy to rob you of God’s true word and replace it with something weak. Upon death according to the Bible the unsaved are immediately in Hell. They will be in Hell until the White Throne Judgement, judged by Jesus Christ according to their works and then cast for eternity into the lake of fire.
Psalm 9:17:“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” Many modern translations have translated the place hell in this verse into either “the grave”, or “Scheol”.
The Grave: This is not clear wording. The grave could simply speak of death. If the only punishment for sin, is physical death, and ceasing to exist that is not justice. It is simply death. A fish caught on a hook dies, it has no soul are we just as fish? Schoel: While some may have understand that this could refer to the abode of the “damned” it is not a clear enough word for most people. A clear word is hell. Simple. To the point.
Word count of various versions:
Revelations 22:18-19:For I testify unto every man that heareth the worlds of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book; (19) And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from that things which are written in this book.
King James.......783,137 NIV....................726,000 -728,000 depending upon the edition CSV...................About 780,000 though sources vary NKJV.................770,743 though this can also vary depending upon the edition used NASB 1995......782,815 ESV..................757,439 HSB.................718,493
Where did all those words go? If all translations are equal (which they are not) how can the word count vary so much? The King James Bible is God’s Holy word. It is complete. The King James Bible is 100% accurate; it is God’s Holy Word.
17 Verses Are Missing from Almost All New Translations: Below we discuss them in detail. Matthew 17:21, Mathew 18:11, Mathew 23:14, Mark 7:16, Mark 9:44 & 46, Mark 11:26, Mark 15:28, Luke 17:36, John 5:4, Acts 8:37, Acts 15:34, Acts 24:7, Acts 28:29, Romans 16:24, 1 John 5:7
Matthew 17:21: “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
Context: A man asked the disciples to cast a devil out of his son. The disciples were unable to accomplish this, so the man went directly to Jesus and Jesus was able to accomplish this. The disciples ask Jesus why they were unable to accomplish this, since they were given the authority to do so from Jesus.
Verse 20: Jesus replies in verse 20 “…..Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you”
Verse 21: Without verse 21 it would appear the disciples simply did not have the faith to accomplish the task. Verse 21 fills in that this specific information that in this case it also takes prayer and fasting.
Prayer: Little is said these days about the power of prayer in most churches. The prayer service is often the least attended service, and hardly a sermon can be found on fasting. We seem to live out the words of the Laodicean church “I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing” Revelation 3:17. We take little time to pray to God almighty. We make our opinion or our money our god asking it what we should do instead of praying over a matter.
I believe every word of the KJV: The Holy Bible is God’s word. It is 100% accurate. Every verse, every word is there for a reason. God gave us the King James Bible so we could have His word in our language. I would rather be accused of being ignorant for believing the King James Bible is 100% accurate than undermining the power of God’s word by saying “this should have been translated this way”. To me that is far worse than just believing we have God’s word in our King James Bible.
Matthew 18:11: “For the son of man is come to save that which is lost” Context: Jesus is denouncing those that bring offences. In the context the offence is sin; leading people to sin. Jesus uses the example of cutting your hand or foot off rather than going to Hell, to show the seriousness of sin and eternal judgement. Verse 10: Immediately prior talks of not despising “these little ones” Verses 12-13: Gives the example of the 1 lost sheep and leaving the other 99 to go after the one lost sheep. The role of Jesus in Salvation: A key verse describing the reason Jesus came is missing from most Bibles. “For the Son of man is come to save that which is lost” ripped out and stolen from the reader. Everything is dependent upon Jesus and what He did. His sacrifice was perfect. Nothing needs to be added to what Jesus did. Do you believe it? Have you repented and trusted in the Saviour? Don’t be surprised: That the enemy wants to rip God’s word away from the people and hide the plan of salvation. The King James Bible is God's Holy, preserved word. From cover to cover it’s there for your learning. Don’t trade it in. Trust it.
Matthew 23:14: “ Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers; therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation” One way the Catholic church amassed so much property was from widows. The husband would die and according to Catholic doctrine be in purgatory for his sins on his way to Heaven. If a mass could be said for a fee of course, the husband could have been released early from purgatory. Often this early release required more than one mass to be said, and to pay for the mass property was sold or given to the Catholic church to pay for the mass.
To steal or swindle for any reason is wicked, but how much more evil from a poor widow woman.
The damnation in this verse is eternal. The word Hell appears 54 times in your King James bible and only a scant 17 in most other translations. By removing the word Hell, and specific words of Christ; for Matthew 23:14 are the words of Christ a great injustice has been done.
Stay with the King James Bible! Don’t even read the other translations in personal study. Removing the words of your Saviour is not just a different translation, but it is robbing you of the very word of God.
Mark 7:16 “if any man have ears to hear; let him hear”
In my Bible, these words are in red, indicating they are the spoken words of Jesus. The context verse 16 comes directly after Jesus has denounced the pharisees and the scribes for rejecting the commandments of God so that they could keep their own traditions.
He ends calling out of tradition vs following the law by stating defilement (sin) does not enter a man by what he eats. Verse 16 gives the direction to “hear” and then the disciples ask for clarification in the following verses. Jesus tells them we are not defiled by what we eat, but by what is already in our hearts.
In verse 16 we are implored (beseeched) to listen. Why would this verse be missing? Why would someone dare to remove the words of Jesus? These are the same people who do not give the full gospel message. We must be ever on guard! Do not trade in your King James Bible.
Mark 9:44 & 46: “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched”
Both verses that are missing in most modern translations are exactly the same. Verse 43 that should be present in most versions in some form or another reads “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off; it is better to enter into life maimed, than having tow hand to go into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched.”
Verse 45 is similar to verse 43 but mentions the foot vs the hand. The context is very clear, a warning from Jesus about Hell fire. Hell is real, the flame is real and as verse 44 & 46 indicate “their worm dieth not”. The torment of Hell is real. It is eternal, it is without end, it can never be satisfied.
Yet the modern versions remove the word “Hell” 37 times on average and replace it with kinder words. Hell is not kind, but it is justice. We must warn the lost of their dreadful state and that a day of reckoning is coming. If they reject the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ they will end up in the place of eternal torment.
“Their worm” could possibly refer to the torment of memory. Every sin, every wrong choice, every chance to get saved that was rejected. The memory of living for the weekend, a life wasted watching hours of TV every week, and a life that in the eternal scope of things didn’t matter because they weren’t saved.
If you are reading this unsaved today, Hell is your destination. Then it gets worse! You will one day be judged at the White Throne Judgement of Jesus Christ and cast into the lake of fire for all eternity. Get saved while you can for there is no hope after death. No purgatory. No second chance. Just Hellfire and brimstone for the unsaved.
